Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Oncology – Fort Worth, TX. Field-based role focused on driving demand for BMS oncology medicines, delivering a differentiated customer experience through scientific dialogue with healthcare providers, and building credibility with regional thought leaders and medical staff across a defined territory.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and grows a high level of scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise using approved resources to present information to HCPs and ensures medical accuracy.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs and facilitates scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintains working expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages real-time medical support to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure optimal customer experience and shares insights internally to better serve customers.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct at BMS.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse preferred.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
  • Experience building credibility with key customers and delivering a differentiated customer experience.
  • Experience in Oncology is preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a proven performance record.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to operate a company-provided vehicle with driving requirements and qualifications as determined by the company.
