Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Neuroscience, MS role is a field-based position within a defined territory, focused on promoting BMS medicines, engaging Health Care Providers with scientific dialogue, and driving appropriate patient adoption while ensuring compliant and ethical practices. The TAS builds credibility with regional thought leaders and clinicians, collaborates cross-functionally to enhance the patient care experience, and spends the majority of time in the field engaging external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and expands scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses CE^3 and other tools to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise using approved resources to present information to HCPs and ensures medical accuracy.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs and facilitates scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge on emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages real-time medical support to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience for HCPs and shares insights internally to improve service.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing the conduct of BMS.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately and convincingly to support patient care.
  • Experience building credibility with key customers and delivering a differentiated Customer Experience.
  • Experience in Neurology is preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with demonstrated performance.

Education

  • Advanced degree in a scientific field preferred; additional certifications in relevant therapeutic areas are a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to operate a company-provided vehicle; requires meeting defined driver eligibility criteria (e.g., age, valid license, driving record).
