Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Neuroscience/MS (TAS) based in Albany, NY. Drives demand for BMS medicines within the assigned portfolio, engaging Health Care Providers with a differentiated scientific dialogue and ensuring a high-quality Customer Experience (Cx). Field-based role, primarily in the external customer environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise using approved resources and publications to present information to HCPs with medical accuracy.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs.
  • Builds and maintains credibility with regional thought leaders and HCPs; serves as primary contact for stakeholders in the patient care continuum.
  • Liaises with other BMS functions to deliver an overall higher Cx and prioritizes safe, appropriate use of BMS products while achieving business results.
  • Maintains field-based engagement, spending 100% of time in the field with external customers.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing roles.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to support patient care.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain credibility with key customers and office staff; strong customer-centric mindset.
  • Experience in Neurology is preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a proven performance record.
  • Must be able to operate a company-provided vehicle; favorable driving record and minimum age requirements apply.

Skills

  • Customer/commercial mindset; data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to simplify complex scientific data for HCPs.
  • Proficiency with CE^3 tools (when implemented) and other CRM/software to plan calls and track data.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret prescribing patterns, market trends, and HCP preferences.
  • Technological agility to use digital channels and tools to engage with healthcare professionals.
  • Teamwork and learning agility; balanced drive and collaboration.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred; additional qualifications in life sciences, pharmacy, or related field.

  • In-person field presence is essential for collaboration and engagement with customers.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be required for roles in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, subject to applicable laws and accommodations.
  • Eligible for a company-provided vehicle; driving qualifications required.
