Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Hematology - Knoxville, TN/Chattanooga, TN. Territory includes Knoxville and Chattanooga. The TAS drives demand for BMS medicines within their portfolio, engaging HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience, and maintains scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Conducts fair and balanced scientific dialogue; presents information to HCPs with medical accuracy.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information in line with the label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs, selecting speakers from approved lists and coordinating scheduling/logistics.
  • Keeps up-to-date with emerging data for approved indications.
  • Provides real-time medical support through Medical on Call to answer unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to ensure best Customer Experience for HCPs.
  • Gathers and shares relevant insights internally to improve service to customers; complies with all laws and policies governing conduct.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nurse.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to help physicians serve patients.
  • Experience building credibility with key customers and delivering a differentiated Customer Experience.
  • Experience in Hematology/Oncology required.
  • Strong account management skills, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with proven performance.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree (preferred) or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to operate in field-based capacity; 100% time in the field with external customers expected.
  • Eligibility for driving requirements: at least 21 years old, valid driver's license in good standing, acceptable driving risk level.
