Position Summary
- Drive demand for Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) medicines within assigned portfolio for appropriate patients by delivering a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue consistent with label.
- Build and maintain credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs (including private practice, medical groups, office staff, and other patient-care stakeholders) as primary point of contact.
- Liaise with other BMS functions to meet HCP needs timely and scientifically; prioritize safe and appropriate use of BMS products while focusing on business results and performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Promotion
- Promote approved indications within a defined territory/region to meet/exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Create demand by articulating clinical/scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
- Maintain and grow scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Use CE^3 (once implemented) to derive insights, dynamically inform call plans, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
- Present approved scientific resources/publications with medical accuracy.
- Conduct in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) consistent with label.
- Organize external speaker programs (selecting approved speakers; scheduling and logistics).
- Maintain expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
- Provide real-time medical support via Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with other field teams to ensure best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs.
- Gather and share insights internally with appropriate stakeholders.
Compliance
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years in pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately and convincingly.
- Demonstrated credibility-building experience with key customers and office staff; customer-centric mindset.
- Cardiovascular experience preferred.
- Strong account management and selling competencies with proven track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Strong selling and promotional skills with performance track record.
