Position Summary
- The TAS is a critical field-based role in BMS’s customer model, driving the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs) to increase adoption of BMS medicines for appropriate patients.
- Serves as primary point of contact for regional thought leaders (RTLs), community physicians/HCPs, office staff, and other stakeholders across the patient care continuum.
- Engages HCPs through deeper scientific dialogue consistent with label, leveraging new ways of working and CE^3.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Promotion
- Promote approved indications within a defined territory/region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Create demand by articulating clinical/scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
- Maintain and grow scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Use tools such as SOPHIA to derive insights and inform call plans; provide feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
- Present approved scientific resources/publications accurately and ensure medical accuracy.
- Conduct in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) consistent with label.
- Organize external speaker programs (select speakers from Speakers Bureau-approved lists; facilitate scheduling/logistics).
- Maintain expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
- Provide real-time medical support via Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate with other field teams to ensure best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs.
- Gather and share relevant insights internally with appropriate stakeholders.
Compliance
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to help physicians serve patients.
- Demonstrated credibility-building experience with key customers and others in the customer influence network; customer-centric mindset.
- Cardiovascular experience preferred.
- Strong account management, selling competencies, and proven sales performance (meeting/exceeding goals).
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset and can-do attitude.
- Strong selling and promotional skills.
