Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Cardiovascular Community - Sacramento, CA. Field-based role focused on driving demand for BMS medicines within the cardiovascular portfolio, engaging Health Care Providers with a differentiated scientific dialogue, and delivering a high-quality Customer Experience in alignment with label and company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and grows scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses tools such as SOPHIA to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise and presents medical information to HCPs consistent with label; conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs with approved speakers; stays current with emerging data.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with other field teams to optimize the Customer Experience for HCPs and shares insights internally.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing the conduct of BMS.

Qualifications

  • Required: Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to help physicians serve patients.
  • Strong credibility with key customers and a customer-centric mindset to create positive Customer Experience.
  • Experience in cardiovascular preferred.
  • Demonstrated account management skills, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a proven performance track record.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Role requires operation of a Company-provided vehicle; requires meeting Qualified Driver requirements (e.g., 21+, valid license, acceptable driving risk).
  • Field-based role with significant time spent meeting external customers.
