Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Cardiovascular Community - Norfolk, VA. Field-based role focused on driving demand for BMS medicines within the cardiovascular portfolio, engaging Health Care Providers with scientifically grounded dialogue, and delivering a differentiated customer experience to support appropriate patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and expands scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas; prepares and implements territory and account plans.
  • Uses tools like CE^3 and SOPHIA to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise in presenting information to HCPs, conducts in-office presentations aligned with label, and organizes external speaker programs.
  • Maintains working knowledge of emerging data; facilitates real-time medical support through Medical on Call for unsolicited questions.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure a high Customer Experience and shares insights internally to better serve customers.
  • Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct at BMS.

Qualifications

  • Required: Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nurse.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to support patient care.
  • Proven ability to build credibility with key customers and deliver a differentiated Customer Experience.
  • Experience in cardiovascular areas preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative attitude; strong selling and promotional skills.

  • Teamwork/enterprise mindset: strong business acumen, learning agility, collaborative approach, integrity and good judgment.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Operation of a Company-provided vehicle; requires meeting standards for qualified driver (age 21+, valid license, acceptable driving risk level).
  • On-site/field travel as part of the role; ability to visit customers/patients and attend meetings as directed.
