What You Will Do
- Provide clinical knowledge of products to medical professionals and help them navigate the complex payer environment.
- Implement marketing strategy and promote Amgen products as led by the District Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate clinical benefits to drive appropriate utilization.
- Achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and meeting/exceeding sales targets via in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and manage accounts by customizing discussions/interactions to customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving/triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance; develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn and grow.
- Demonstrate and sustain passion for products throughout the sales cycle while keeping patient impact at the forefront.
- Uphold Amgen values (science-based, ethical conduct, teamwork, collaboration, communication, and accountability).
Basic Qualifications (Senior Specialty Representative):
- Bachelorโs degree and 3 years of sales and/or non-sales-related clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field; OR
- Associate degree and 6 years of sales and/or non-sales-related clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field; OR
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales and/or non-sales-related clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of sales experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/medical devices, with product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
- Local market knowledge.
- Established relationships in the territory.
- Bachelorโs degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
- Adaptability with: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging business/industry/technical knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; Cultivating internal/external relationships.
