Sr. Specialist, Medical Communications & Scientific Publications
Key Accountabilities
- Medical writing: Develop medical communications deliverables (primary/secondary manuscripts, review articles, abstracts, posters/orals). Maintain project timelines and follow best practices (including authorship disclosures).
- Medical editing and quality checks: Perform source verification/fact-checks, copyediting, proofreading; ensure content/style consistency and formatting to established guidelines. Provide/receive constructive feedback.
- Visual content creation: Create slide decks and supporting graphics, tables, and figures; maintain and update core slide decks.
- Literature searches: Conduct literature searches and summarize relevant publications; support literature repository organization.
- Lead and mentor: Support on-time, high-quality deliverables; mentor junior team members and uphold Telix values.
Education & Experience (Required/Preferred)
- Advanced scientific degree: Master’s (4+ years) or PhD (preferred) with 2+ years relevant experience.
- 5+ years publications experience (peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, poster/oral presentations) and industry/pharmaceutical experience.
- 2+ years oncology, health economic outcomes research, and/or real-world evidence research (plus).
- Medical editing and quality review of scientific publications experience (e.g., regulatory/manuscripts/abstracts).
- Knowledge of publication standards/guidelines (e.g., ICMJE, Good Publication Practice, AMA, EQUATOR).
Skills/Capabilities
- Critically read and communicate scientific and regulatory materials (protocol, investigator’s brochure, clinical study report).
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint/Word/Excel and reference managers (EndNote preferred); experience with AI/automation and statistical analysis software (plus).
- Strong communication, collaboration, adaptability, and ethical/integrity mindset.
