Job Summary:
The Senior Specialist, Benefit Operations plays a central role in managing and coordinating administration of company-sponsored health and welfare benefits and wellness programs (primary for Canada; supports US and Puerto Rico). Provides Tier 2 support and partners with internal People Services teams and external benefit administrators, carriers, vendors, and brokers to ensure effective, efficient programs and an exceptional employee customer experience.

Essential Functions:
- Use ServiceNow to research and resolve Tier 2 benefits operations cases.
- Oversee daily administration of medical, dental, vision, COBRA, retiree MAP & EGWP, HSA, FSAs, life insurance, disability, wellness, and ancillary plans.
- Manage benefit plan/system implementations, enhancements, testing, deployment, execution, administration, and communications.
- Partner with Benefit Strategists and Service Delivery Management; provide SME input on feasibility, plan requirements, vendor deliverables, and project plans.
- Identify process automation opportunities.
- Serve as main operational point of contact for benefit administrators, carriers, and vendors.
- Support Annual Enrollment planning/execution; partner with Communications; oversee contracted delivery; analyze enrollment data.
- Compile/present data for second-level appeals.
- Review/update employee reference materials/Knowledge Articles.
- Prepare/submit and/or oversee vendor preparation of government filings (e.g., 5500s, SARs, 1095s).
- Prepare financial reports; audit/reconcile invoices; support PO process.
- Assist with audits and benefits surveys.
- Coordinate M&A benefit operations activities.
- Create training/resources (webinars, workshops, materials).
- Monitor/analyze utilization, costs, and trends; recommend improvements.
- Stay current on best practices and regulation changes.
- May require occasional work beyond a 40-hour week.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or CEBS preferred.

Experience:
- 5–7 years benefits administration; 3+ years in senior/lead role required; Canadian experience preferred.
- Self-insured benefits plans or large complex benefits programs required; RRSP and Medicare knowledge preferred.
- Benefits administration software/HRIS required; Workday and Alight familiarity preferred.
- Strongly preferred: implementing new benefit technologies, upgrading systems, operational redesigns.

Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and MS Excel; exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; ability to explain complex benefits to all stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management/organizational skills; manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative, multifunctional team mindset; deliver with minimal supervision.

Work Environment:
- Typical office environment; 50% hybrid schedule.
- Occasional travel may be required.

- Tampa, FL, US: $68,430–$82,915.
