Main Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead security presence at assigned offsite meetings and events; project professionalism, courtesy, and authority.
- Manage and ensure compliance with Sanofi’s Global Meeting & Events Policy and applicable Global Operating Procedures (GOP).
- Use the approved threat assessment web platform to assess meetings/events in North America (US and Canada).
- Perform security sweeps before and after meetings to ensure safety/security of environment, equipment, and sensitive materials.
- Coordinate access control to ensure only credentialed individuals enter meeting spaces.
- Deliver daily security briefings on current risks and security protocols.
- Coordinate onsite security plans with the Meeting Management Team, Venue Security, and Law Enforcement as needed.
- Liaise with event planning agencies and hotel/venue security teams in advance of and throughout events.
- Evaluate meeting agendas to determine duration and level of security coverage required.
- Determine staffing levels and contract local security providers when required.
- Train and manage contract security officers.
- Review venues (hotels, restaurants, conference spaces) and make security/safety recommendations.
- Investigate incidents thoroughly and discreetly; document and maintain incident reports in the case management system.
- Maintain required records (Meeting Assessment, Security Plan, Venue Floorplan/Grid, Meeting Agenda, Attendee List, Post-Meeting Report).

Executive Committee & VIP Security
- Provide executive services support for Executive Committee members and Highly Exposed Personnel (HEP).
- Coordinate with the Executive Services Team for seamless coverage at events with Executive Committee/CEO attendance.
- Develop and implement security plans including transportation, accommodations, and emergency response protocols.

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
- Act as primary security liaison among Sanofi Security, business stakeholders, meeting managers, and external event agencies.
- Proactively obtain information needed for risk assessments well in advance.
- Coordinate with venue security teams and local law enforcement.
- Provide clear, professional, timely security guidance to organizers, attendees, and third parties.
- Handle sensitive/high-pressure situations with diplomacy; enforce security rules for senior leaders/VIPs/large groups.

Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise Meetings & Events Security Team members.
- Mentor and provide performance oversight to contracted direct reports; foster professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred).
- 10+ years progressive leadership/operational experience in private sector or government, including meetings and event security, executive protection, or similar customer-facing security management.
- Demonstrated investigative success.
- Demonstrated ability to develop/executed security-related programs at leadership level.
- Threat assessment experience.
- Sound judgment and ethical conduct.
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and standard corporate software.

Preferred Qualifications
- Corporate security experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/life sciences.
- Minimum 3 years in meetings/event security (or similar customer-facing role).
- Experience managing security for large offsite events (100+ attendees).
- Experience with executive-level personnel/VIP protection.
- Experience managing and directing contract security personnel.

- Superior communications; strong customer service orientation; high situational awareness.
- Ability to lead change, collaborate cross-functionally, and influence domestically/internationally.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle discreet responsibilities.

Travel/Physical Requirements
- Travel up to 75% throughout North America; short-notice availability; evenings/weekends as needed.
- Must have a US passport with no prohibitions on travel to Canada.
- Stand/walk for extended periods; conduct security sweeps; respond quickly in emergencies.
