Senior Scientist, High Throughput Process Development (West Point, PA or Rahway, NJ)
Responsibilities:
- Champion high-throughput, data-rich experimentation in upstream/downstream large-molecule process development
- Collaborate with large molecule process development teams to identify pain points and translate into high-throughput solutions
- Develop high-throughput solutions, optimize workflows, and potentially build solutions from minimal substrate within Lab Automation
- Collaborate effectively in dynamic, multidisciplinary teams; demonstrate impactful scientific innovation
- Publish and present research; maintain a record of academic engagement
Education Minimum Requirement:
- Ph.D. in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related field
- OR M.S. (same fields) with at least 2 years industrial/pharma or relevant experience
- OR B.S. (same fields) with at least 4 years industrial/pharma or relevant experience
Required Experience & Skills:
- Drug substance and/or drug product process development experience supporting biologics and/or vaccines
- Experience implementing high-throughput, benchtop, and/or custom lab automation for bioprocess development
- Experience with process analytical technologies in bioprocess development
- Experience building data science/data engineering tools to accelerate bioprocess development
- Entrepreneurship, strong communication/creativity/interpersonal skills
- Ability to deliver complex solutions under compressed timelines; cross-functional teamwork
Preferred:
- New technology research; track record deploying data-rich tools/methodologies
- Evidence of cross-functional collaboration (academic or industrial)
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills
