Responsibilities:
- Champion high-throughput and data-rich experimentation in upstream and downstream large-molecule process development
- Collaborate with large-molecule process development teams to identify pain points and translate them into high-throughput solutions
- Work in the Digital Technologies Lab Automation team to produce high-throughput solutions, optimize workflows, and potentially build solutions from minimal substrate
- Communicate and collaborate effectively in a dynamic, integrated, multidisciplinary team environment
- Demonstrate impactful scientific innovation in a team-oriented manner; build trusted partnerships across stakeholder networks
- Publish and present research, including an established track record with the broader academic community
Education (minimum):
- Ph.D. in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related field; or
- M.S. in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related field with at least 2 years of industrial/pharmaceutical (or relevant) experience; or
- B.S. in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related field with at least 4 years of industrial/pharmaceutical (or relevant) experience
Required Experience & Skills:
- Relevant experience in drug substance and/or drug product process development supporting biologics and/or vaccines
- Experience developing and implementing high-throughput, benchtop, and/or custom lab automation to streamline bioprocess development
- Experience with common process analytical technologies used in bioprocess development
- Experience developing and implementing data science/data engineering tools to accelerate bioprocess development
- Entrepreneurship skills to deliver novel technologies to key stakeholders
- Excellent communication, creativity, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to deliver complex solutions under compressed timelines; cross-functional teamwork
Preferred:
- New technology research experience, including identifying/developing/deploying data-rich tools and methodologies
- Evidence of cross-functional collaboration in academic or industrial settings
- Motivation to learn new skills, take on challenges, and strong scientific curiosity
