Senior Program Manager, Global Medical Affairs - Rare Disease & General Medicine
Responsibilities:
- Support development and execution of Medical Strategy for Global Rare Disease and General Medicine Medical Affairs teams.
- Coordinate and integrate insights with the Medical Affairs Lead to inform product strategy.
- Drive execution of the Medical Plan, including goal development and regular progress tracking.
- Lead alignment of the Medical Plan across global, regional, and local Medical leads (including large and ROW/emerging markets).
- Ensure integration of Global Medical Strategy with EGT, AUEG, IBT, and other cross-functional partners.
- Document decisions, actions, and follow-up; identify deliverables and interdependencies; maintain integrated plans.
- Implement standard methodologies; reinforce cross-functional alignment and accountability.
- Identify project issues, risks, and resource gaps; facilitate resolution, contingency planning, and escalation.
- Monitor and communicate progress, timeline adherence, and variances to Medical Affairs leadership.
- Support resource planning, financial planning, and capacity assessments with Medical Operations and Finance.
- Conduct risk management and scenario planning; support continuous improvement of planning governance/ways of working.
- Apply approved emerging technologies (e.g., AI tools such as Copilot) to strengthen Medical planning and reporting.
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate + 2 years Project Management, OR Master’s + 4 years, OR Bachelor’s + 6 years, OR Associate + 10 years, OR HS/GED + 12 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years program/project management in pharma/biotech/healthcare or complex regulated environments.
- 8+ years industry experience in biotech/pharma/healthcare.
- Experience with Global Medical Affairs and cross-functional teams; Rare Disease/General Medicine portfolios.
- Experience influencing stakeholders globally without direct authority; tracking risks and resolving ambiguity.
- Integrated planning, milestone/resource/financial/capacity planning, dashboards/reporting, and technical fluency (SharePoint, Copilot, Teams).
