Production Senior Process Operator

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, challenge, replenish consumable supplies, and clean equipment in accordance with cGMPs, Batch Documentation, SOPs, ZSPs, and JSAs; maintain inspection readiness of the area with minimal supervision.
- Monitor equipment for excessive rejects/stoppages; use performance data to escalate issues affecting product quality, safety, and line performance.
- Apply GSK Production System standards (5S, standard work, problem solving, Gemba, process confirmations, performance management) to support Zero Accidents, Zero Defects, and Zero Waste.
- Participate in performance management; support problem-solving steps 1–3; perform/maintain OSW and 5S.
- Achieve safety, quality, waste, and performance objectives; identify and recommend process improvements or alternative operating methods to increase efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment production stoppages.
- Use required systems/applications for job performance (e.g., DELTA, my Learning, Free Weigh, DISY, Active Plant, IP21, SAP basic transactions).
- Coordinate with other associates/technicians to support daily responsibilities, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide information to the next supervisory level.
- Understand and explain technological theory of operation, product flow, and the purpose of sensors/limit/proximity switches.
- Perform equipment changeovers and start-of-batch activities to designed specifications; complete SAP changeover tasks; certify on multiple technologies as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years experience in a Production Operator role
- 3+ years experience working at GSK
- OJT certified in all packaging work centers or the majority of manufacturing work centers
- Demonstrated performance in all Process Operator job roles

Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or equivalent education
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- Basic computer skills; MS Word and MS Excel
- Ability to work accurately with figures and information
- Ability to use and analyze data effectively
- Mechanically inclined; able to learn equipment operation, read gauges/instrumentation; experience with medical device and/or pharmaceutical production equipment
- Strong attention to detail; ability to create and follow detailed documentation
- Ability to follow written and verbal instruction

Skills / Traits:
- Advanced MS Office computer skills; ability to analyze data and troubleshoot
- Proficient use of basic hand tools
- Visual inspection and strong attention to detail; independent work
- Ability to train others; set up equipment to scale measurements without assistance
- Strong understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Root-cause problem solving using a 6-step process

Physical Job Requirements:
- Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, balance, crawl, crouch, reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, grasp, feel, talk, hear, lift, and perform role tasks
- Ability to work overtime as needed; work up to 12.5 hours in one shift
- Wear gloves, eye protection, and protective clothing
- Handle up to 40 lbs. of materials
- Work in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving mechanical parts, and various drug compounds; operate in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
