Role Summary

The Senior Oncology Sales Specialist develops account and customer specific business plans to drive adoption and utilization of Puma’s first commercial oncology product. The role is responsible for achieving all territory sales goals through promotion, sale and support of our oncology product in the assigned geographic territory. The role represents Puma and the approved indication to external customers such as physicians and nurses, helping them learn about the product in relation to the applicable therapeutic area/disease state. Ideal candidates have deep knowledge of oncology customers and accounts and understand local dynamics that influence business in the area.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes robust territory business plans
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals, brand KPIs, and management by objectives
  • Develops and manages long-term relationships with physicians, nurses, office managers and other key stakeholders in the territory
  • Conducts discussions with key physicians and health care professionals in support of the approved product indication
  • Utilizes approved resources and messages to meet goals and targets
  • Interacts with key stakeholders and explains features and benefits of the product using persuasive sales techniques
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners including clinical nurse educators, marketers, account managers and medical science liaisons
  • Plans and organizes promotional speaker programs in territory in partnership with Speakers Bureau vendors
  • Communicates competitive market intelligence to brand teams and management
  • Monitors operating costs and budget to ensure activities comply with company policies

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor‚Äôs Degree
  • Experience: Minimum 6+ years in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry; oncology and/or rare disease experience; proven track record of results; ability to drive results in a competitive market
  • Preferred: Market Access or Reimbursement experience
  • Additional: Experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry or oncology highly preferred
  • Other: Launch and/or promotion experience in breast cancer or rare disease products is a plus

Additional Requirements

  • Travel is primarily within the territory with local and overnight travel; up to 20% travel may be required
  • Role requires significant use of a personal vehicle; reimbursement provided; motor vehicle record may be checked
  • Typical work hours are Monday‚ÄìFriday, with potential weekend work as needed
