Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) — Responsibilities:
- Promote Pfizer’s product portfolio to healthcare providers and specialists.
- Educate the healthcare community on appropriate use of Pfizer products.
- Call on accounts and organized customers to improve patients’ experience and overall quality of patient care.
- Increase Pfizer’s brand with high-value target customers by assessing account/business landscape and applying knowledge of Pfizer products/resources.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS (accredited) OR associate’s degree + 8+ years OR high school diploma (or equivalent) + 10+ years relevant experience.
- Domestic travel with overnight stays as necessary.
- Valid US driver’s license; compliant driving record. Any DUI/DWI/impaired driving citation in past 7 years disqualifies.
- 4+ years pharmaceutical sales OR 4+ years oncology HCP experience with oncology thought leaders/high-influence customers in hospitals, large group practices, or managed care.
- Proven track record of success.
- Ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific product and disease-management information.
- Business acumen.
- Proficiency with complex digital applications; adapt to Pfizer’s technology model.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3–5 years oncology sales.
- Prostate cancer therapeutic area experience.
- Master’s degree or advanced HCP degree.
- Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers, and Key Opinion Leaders.
Functional/Technical Skills:
- Promote portfolio; strong disease/therapeutic area/product knowledge.
- Generate demand; strategic account selling/territory planning.
- Maintain institutional relationships; access difficult-to-reach providers.
- Build KOL relationships; assess needs and respond with appropriate resources.
- Sell/technical/relationship skills; influence throughout the selling process; strong communication.
- Quickly learn in a changing environment; work in a matrix and leverage resources.
Compensation/Benefits (explicit):
- During initial training: salary non-exempt (overtime eligible); after certification: overtime exempt.
- Additional Sales Incentive bonus.
