The Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) promotes Pfizer’s product portfolio to health care providers and specialists; educates members of the healthcare community on appropriate use of Pfizer products; calls on accounts and organized customers to improve patients’ experience and overall quality of patient care; and increases Pfizer’s brand with high-value target customers by linking insight into the account/business landscape with a strong understanding of Pfizer products and resources.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree (or associate’s degree with 8+ years experience; or high school diploma/equivalent with 10+ years relevant experience)
- Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary
- Valid US driver’s license and compliant driving record (any DUI/DWI or impaired driving citation within past 7 years disqualifies)
- Minimum of 4 years pharmaceutical sales OR 4 years oncology HCP experience working with key oncology thought leaders/high-influence customers in hospitals, large group practices, or managed care
- Demonstrated track record of success with prior pharmaceutical sales or HCP experience
- Aptitude to communicate technical/scientific product and disease-management information
- Demonstrated business acumen
- Proficiency using complex digital applications and ability to adapt to Pfizer’s long-range technology model
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3–5 years oncology sales experience
- Experience in Melanoma/Colorectal Cancer therapeutic area
- Master’s degree or Advanced HCP degree
- Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers, and Key Opinion Leaders
Functional/Technical Skills:
- Promote broad product portfolio; strong knowledge of disease states/therapeutic areas/products
- Generate demand in assigned accounts; strategic account selling/territory planning
- Maintain institution relationships; overcome barriers to access providers/customers
- Cultivate KOL relationships; assess needs and respond with appropriate resources
- Engage/influence/support customers throughout the selling process; strong communication/interpersonal/leadership skills
- Adapt quickly in a changing environment; work in a matrix and leverage multiple resources.
