The Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) promotes Pfizer’s oncology product portfolio to healthcare providers and specialists; educates members of the healthcare community on appropriate use of Pfizer products; calls on accounts and organized customers to improve patients’ experience and the overall quality of patient care.
SOAS increases Pfizer’s brand with high-value target customers by linking an assessment of the account/business landscape with understanding of Pfizer’s products and resources.
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS from an accredited institution (or associate’s degree with 8+ years’ experience; or high school diploma/equivalent with 10+ years relevant experience)
- Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary
- Valid US driver’s license; any DUI/DWI or impaired-driving citation within past 7 years disqualifies
- Minimum 4 years Pharmaceutical Sales OR 4 years Oncology HCP experience with oncology thought leaders/high-influence customers in hospitals, large group practices, or managed care
- Demonstrated track record of success in Pharmaceutical Sales or HCP experience
- Ability to communicate technical/scientific product and disease management information
- Demonstrated business acumen
- Proficiency using complex digital applications and ability to adapt Pfizer’s technology model
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years oncology sales; Lung Cancer Therapeutic Area experience
- Master’s degree; Advanced HCP degree
- Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers, and Key Opinion Leaders
Functional/Technical Skills
- Promote portfolio; strong knowledge of disease states/therapeutic areas/products
- Generate demand; strategic territory/account planning; maintain institutional relationships
- Engage/influence customers; build KOL and priority customer relationships; overcome access obstacles
- Assess needs and respond with targeted skills/resources; work effectively in a matrix environment
Benefits/Compensation (as stated)
- Annual base salary: $108,600–$250,700; sales incentive bonus; comprehensive benefits including 401(k) match; paid vacation/holidays; paid leave; medical/dental/vision.
- During initial training: salary non-exempt (overtime eligible); after certification: overtime exempt.
