Medical Affairs
Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with thought leaders, academic centers, and researchers to access current medical/scientific information.
- Present disease-state/therapeutic-landscape/scientific and AbbVie product information across the product lifecycle to HCPs.
- Support research initiatives and physician-initiated projects (e.g., site evaluation/identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, external collaboration management).
- Prepare the marketplace in new therapeutic areas by creating awareness and relationships.
- Build and collaborate with internal cross-functional partnerships and in-field commercial teams to execute account plans and serve as a scientific resource.
- Answer unsolicited medical questions and address other clinically related medical information requests.
- Provide ongoing training to medical affairs, field sales, and internal personnel.
- Practice strategic segmentation and optimal resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with corporate/divisional policies, including accurate documentation for HCP interactions; maintain annual expenses within assigned budget.

Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, or APP); doctorate strongly preferred.
- Typically 2+ years relevant experience.
- Ability to identify/analyze/translate territory and corporate needs to meet business and clinical objectives.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; excellent written/verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation/teaching, planning/organizational, and leadership skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Meet HCIR credentialing requirements (may include background checks, drug screens, and immunization/vaccination proof).
- Ability to learn and convey technical clinical and non-clinical information; engage audiences.
- Travel up to 75%.
