Field-based Oncology Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for the Breast team (reports to a regional Field Director; South Texas Region). Disseminates clinical information about Gilead oncology products to key opinion leaders, academic institutions, healthcare professionals (including allied healthcare members), community practices, and professional organizations.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Relay medical information to opinion leaders in-region; support customers with medical questions via scientific discussions and medical meetings.
- Engage HCPs in one-on-one scientific data discussions.
- Work on special projects; demonstrate leadership and self-initiation.
- Build and maintain a national network of opinion leaders; recognize issues/trends impacting success.
- Respond to clinical inquiries for marketed/developmental products; develop and present complex scientific/clinical data.
- Identify and develop opinion leaders; train Gilead-approved speakers via contacts and on-site visits.
- Establish relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators, and providers.
- Provide sales force training (national/regional).
- Collaborate on Phase IV programs; select trial sites for Phase IV and other clinical trials.
- Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Clinical Research, Global Safety, and Medical Communication; advise others on complex issues.
- Travel frequently (>70%); occasionally with short notice (including some weekends).
- Maintain knowledge via continuing education; exhibits integrity, teamwork, accountability, excellence, inclusion.
Typical Education & Experience / Qualifications:
- BS/BA + 10+ years OR MS/MA + 8+ years OR PhD/PharmD + 5+ years OR MD + 2 years.
- Advanced degree preferred; or BS in pharmacy / BS/MS nursing with relevant experience.
- Oncology experience including at least 5 years clinical practice.
- Clinical practice/industry experience in therapeutic area desirable; clinical patient contact preferred.
- Demonstrated independent work; strong presentation skills (clinical trial management/investigation preferred).
Compensation & Benefits (as stated):
- Salary range: $191,250.00β$247,500.00; may be eligible for discretionary bonus, stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
