Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr MSL) for the pain program (near-term launch), serving as a scientific liaison to the medical/academic community. Establishes and maintains relationships with allied HCPs and other healthcare stakeholders to disseminate clinical, scientific, and health-economic data in a timely, ethical, stakeholder-focused manner; contributes external insights to shape the medical plan and Medical Affairs strategy.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops trusted relationships with thought leaders and allied HCPs/stakeholders in pain care.
- Applies pain expertise to enhance thought leader/HCP engagement across academic centers and integrated delivery networks.
- Implements the Scientific Engagement Model (SEM) in all interactions.
- Incorporates the medical plan into territory planning; captures feedback in CRM to inform internal strategy.
- Uses CRM/analytics for time-sensitive capture, TL engagement optimization, and workload management.
- Communicates clinical/scientific/health-economic information compliantly.
- Understands payer roles and impacts on patient care; knowledge of pharmacists, P&T committees, and IDNs.
- Supports clinical development/operations (IB understanding; SIV presentations; trial site nominations; end-of-study reviews).
- Represents at medical congresses (sessions/abstract coverage, booth coverage, summaries; may lead logistics/debrief).
- May mentor/train less-experienced colleagues.
- Ensures compliance with policies and completes administrative tasks (e.g., CRM, expenses, calendars).
Knowledge/Skills
- Experience/training in pain-associated medical conditions.
- Literature appraisal and credible presentation of clinical/scientific information.
- Geographic territory knowledge; regulatory understanding.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; matrix experience.
- Health Economics & Outcomes Research; compliance/regulatory frameworks.
- Fluent in English and local language (oral/written).
Requirements
- Advanced biomedical/life sciences degree (e.g., MS/NP/PA); PhD/PharmD/MD desirable.
- Typically 5+ years as an MSL or equivalent pharma/biotech medical affairs experience.
- Must live within the North West territory near an airport and travel routinely.
Pay Range: $171,300–$256,900. Eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards.
