Responsibilities:
- Act as primary scientific/clinical resource to Opinion Leaders (OLs), Population Health Decision Makers (PHDMs), and healthcare providers; execute Amgen Medical function/product strategy to improve patient outcomes.
- Conduct peer-to-peer activities; advance obesity scientific platform aligned with company goals.
- Engage clinical investigators/sites to support the obesity pipeline.
- Communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data with PHDMs within assigned IDNs and institutions.
- Connect stakeholders to improve patient reach/access; provide in-depth, balanced scientific exchange consistent with MSL compliance.
- Support Amgen sponsored research (may serve as study lead); liaise with potential investigators in non-sponsored research.
- Share field observations to inform internal strategy; lead/support congress activities and speaker training.
- Lead/participate on project teams supporting MSL strategies; partner across field roles for a One Amgen experience.
- Mentor other MSLs; complete administrative/training requirements (e.g., Veeva CRM, expenses, compliance modules); maintain clinical/scientific expertise.
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree + 2 years Medical Affairs experience; OR Master’s + 6 years; OR Bachelor’s + 8 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharm.D./Ph.D./M.D./D.O.; 7+ years medically related field with 1 year clinical practice/research.
- 2+ years as MSL in biotech/pharma; current Scientific Affairs/Medical Affairs.
- Cardiometabolic and/or Obesity expertise; experience with designated territory.
