Responsibilities:
- Develop and own early-, mid-, and late-stage communications strategy and positioning for the cardiometabolic health pipeline; architect narratives before milestones land; connect each data readout to the enterprise science story.
- Follow early Congress playbooks to show up with Lillyβs CMH data where and how it matters.
- Partner with Medical Affairs and R&D to align publications strategy with communications objectives; ensure peer-reviewed disclosures reinforce the corporate narrative with proactive media/stakeholder engagement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior cardiometabolic health R&D and TA leaders; prepare executives for media interviews and scientific congresses; develop executive visibility strategies and materials.
- Develop and execute proactive media strategy for pipeline milestones; build/manage relationships with key journalists; manage reactive inquiries with the broader media relations team.
- Integrate narratives across TA and enterprise teams; contribute to enterprise data release playbook and unified congress presence.
- Manage issues: create messaging frameworks, scenario plans, and rapid-response protocols for competitive/reputational issues; act as an issues navigation expert.
- Collaborate cross-functionally; manage agency partners and external resources.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in communications, science, public relations, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of communications experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship anticipated for H-1B or TN.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Strong cardiometabolic knowledge (e.g., GLP-1 RAs, obesity, Type 2 diabetes, CV outcomes, MASH).
- Experience in cardiometabolic communications; clinical data communications; congress strategy; media relations; executive counsel; translating complex data into narratives for diverse audiences.
- Strong media relations, publication planning/medical affairs collaboration, high-pressure judgment, proactive/anticipatory mindset, measurable business-impact track record, and executive credibility.
Location/Travel: Indianapolis, IN; 15β25% domestic/international travel.
