Medical Affairs
Summary / Role:
- Primary Marketing point of contact for field intelligence; gathers insights from KOLs, customers, and Prader-Willi syndrome community members to inform marketing strategies.
Essential Functions:
Brand Strategy
- Partner in brand planning/strategic development across HCP, Patient, and Medical Marketing initiatives.
- Transform field insights into data-driven program enhancements to optimize campaign effectiveness.
- Manage Advisory Board execution end-to-end (recruitment, facilitation, insights reporting).
- Ensure peer-to-peer/patient ambassador program success (speaker selection/readiness/coaching, event coordination, insights tracking, feedback improvements).
- Conduct field-based market research to inform/validate brand strategy.
Marketing Initiatives/Campaigns/Investments
- Manage marketing campaigns/programs from concept to execution; manage agency relationships and deliverables; guide materials through promotional review.
- Serve as Marketing liaison to aligned sales teams; provide education on brand programs.
KOL Engagement
- Develop regional business engagement plans.
- Manage HCP relationships; gather insights/sentiment; develop networks.
- Identify and engage emerging KOLs; secure KOL participation.
- Report and synthesize KOL insights; conduct trend/sentiment analysis; share insights with Commercial Analytics.
- Develop and execute regional insight gathering.
Patient Engagement
- Develop engagement plans.
- Lead Patient Ambassador/Influencer programs (execution, operations, agency management, contracting, needs assessment, content, events).
- Manage patient/caregiver relationships; identify partners; secure participation.
- Report/synthesize insights; share with Commercial Analytics.
Medical Marketing
- Oversee Speaker Bureau and/or Patient Ambassador/Influencers (nomination, selection, contracting, annual training, utilization, coaching).
- Lead Medical Marketing initiatives across ideation to evolution.
- Develop content for peer-to-peer, product theaters, patient/caregiver programs, speaker/field training, and promotional materials.
Field Alignment
- Partner with Sales, Medical, and Market Access to ensure consistent brand strategy implementation.
- Follow/evolve Field Playbook guidelines; optimize processes with Director.
Compliance
- Collaborate with Legal/Compliance to ensure adherence to applicable guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Strong communicator and diplomat; combine scientific knowledge with communication (clinical acumen).
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical promotion legal/regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Track record building cross-functional relationships (medical, legal, regulatory, advocacy, compliance, marketing, corporate comms).
- Strategic thinking, initiative, problem solving, creativity; apply to product positioning/messaging.
- Able to maintain focus in changing environments; prioritize effectively.
Education & Experience (Preferred)
- Bachelorβs degree in Marketing/Business/Health Policy/Science or related + 10+ years pharmaceutical/biotech marketing and sales experience; OR
- Masterβs degree in relevant field + 8+ years similar experience.
Skills
- Thought leadership; strong communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking, influencing skills.
Travel
- 50% or more.
Compensation
- Salary range: $173,000β$222,000 (actual may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location).
