General Summary:
- Serve as Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr MSL) for Nephrology programs (including IgAN and AMKD), establishing scientific relationships with HCPs to disseminate clinical/scientific information ethically and in a timely manner.
Key Duties And Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with Thought Leaders and other HCPs to drive scientific engagement.
- Apply the Scientific Engagement Model (SEM) in all interactions.
- Incorporate medical plan into territory planning and capture feedback in CRM to inform strategy.
- Use CRM and data analytics tools to manage workload and document interactions.
- Communicate scientific information compliantly to stakeholders.
- Apply payer knowledge to understand impact on patient care.
- Support clinical development/operations by presenting IB content; assist with trial site nominations and end-of-study reviews (as needed).
- Represent Vertex at medical congresses (coverage, interactions, summaries; logistical support as needed).
- Mentor/train colleagues (e.g., new hire onboarding).
- Perform activities in compliance with Vertex policies and complete required administrative tasks.
Knowledge/Skills (required):
- Time management and high-quality execution; ability to work in changing environments.
- Ability to appraise medical/scientific literature and present information credibly.
- Knowledge of territory, healthcare regulatory environment, compliance frameworks, payers, and Health Economics & Outcomes Research.
- Fluent English (oral/written).
Education/Experience:
- Advanced biomedical/life sciences degree (e.g., Masters, NP, PA).
- Minimum 4 years as an MSL supporting Nephrology programs or equivalent pharma/biotech medical affairs experience; prior therapeutic area training helpful.
