General Summary:
The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr MSL) (Nephrology) for Vertex's broad Nephrology programs including IgAN and AMKD.

Key Duties And Responsibilities:
- Develops and fosters effective relationships with Thought Leaders and engages other appropriate HCPs to drive scientific engagement across a network of Nephrology opinion leaders.
- Incorporates all aspects of the SEM (Scientific Engagement Model) into interactions.
- Integrates the medical plan into interactions and territory planning; captures feedback in the CRM to inform internal stakeholders and medical strategy.
- Uses CRM/analytics tools to capture interaction details and manage workload.
- Discusses scientific information effectively and compliantly with external stakeholders (disease state and product).
- Applies in-depth knowledge of regional payers and their impact on patient care delivery.
- Supports clinical development/clinical operations by presenting IB material, providing trial site nominations as requested, and supporting end-of-study data reviews with investigators (as needed).
- Represents Vertex at medical congresses (scientific sessions/abstracts, booth staffing, TL interactions, congress summaries, and debriefs/logistics as needed).
- May mentor/train less-experienced colleagues (e.g., new hire onboarding).
- Performs activities in compliance with Vertex policy and completes administrative tasks timely (CRM entry, mileage, expenses, calendar, training assignments, etc.).

Knowledge And Skills:
- Time management and delivery of high-quality results; ability to plan projects in a changing environment.
- Ability to appraise medical/scientific literature; present clinical/scientific information credibly.
- Knowledge of assigned geographic territory; healthcare regulatory environment.
- Working understanding of compliance/regulatory frameworks; in-depth payer knowledge; Health Economics & Outcomes Research.
- Fluent English (oral/written).

Education And Experience:
- Minimum advanced biomedical/life sciences degree (e.g., Masters, NP, PA).
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as an MSL supporting Nephrology or other medical affairs roles in pharma/biotech (or equivalent).
- Previous training/experience in the therapeutic area helpful.

Pay Range:
- $171,300 - $256,900
