What You Will Do
- Be a credible medical/scientific expert engaging with Key Medical Experts (KMEs) and HCPs to increase confidence in clinical decisions regarding disease state and Biogen’s products for near- and long-term patient care.
- Build deep, strategic, long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders; be viewed as a partner rather than transactional.
- Be a responsive “partner in the trenches,” solutions-driven conduit to medical community leaders.
- Engage in projects/initiatives aligned to US Medical strategy, objectives, and tactics.
- Meet qualitative and quantitative medical excellence performance goals; execute KME engagement plans; navigate resources with field and non-field colleagues; capture and report KME/HCP insights using Veeva with consistency and accuracy.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree required; Doctoral (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP) strongly preferred.
- 5+ years Rheumatology/Dermatology Medical Science Liaison experience.
- Must reside within the territory: OH, MI, IN, WI, IL, MN, IA, MO, ND, SD, NE.
- Effective communication; empathetic listening; adapts communication to audience.
- Digital potential and willingness to learn new tools/systems.
- Accountability to goals, metrics, and KPIs.
- Ethical commitment to industry rules for patient benefit.
- Ability to travel at least 60% (overnight and occasional weekends).
- Age 18+; valid driver’s license; acceptable driving record; authorization to drive company-leased vehicle or rental.
Preferred Skills
- Clinical experience and subject matter expertise in systemic and/or cutaneous lupus (CLE).
