Senior Medical Science Liaison – Immunology (Dermatology) (Long Island, NY territory)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs strategy and approved medical assets.
- Conduct high-quality two-way scientific exchange with KOLs/HCPs; identify trends, unmet needs, and educational gaps.
- Build strong professional relationships with community and academic HCPs/KOLs to advance scientific credibility.
- Use insights and MSL tools to plan territory engagements and proactively uncover gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance decision making, streamline processes, and improve efficiency/outcomes.
- Identify provider educational needs; deliver tailored, scientifically balanced education.
- Present and discuss complex clinical evidence; adapt communication style, listen, ask questions, and correct misunderstandings.
- Generate, consolidate, and share actionable insights to inform medical strategy and asset planning.
- Serve as point-of-contact for investigators/internal partners for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.
- Respond promptly to unsolicited research/clinical inquiries with compliant, objective information.
- Execute Medical Affairs/MSL priorities; adapt plans based on evolving data and compliance.
- Collaborate compliantly across matrix stakeholders (e.g., field partners, R&D, Global Medical Affairs, clinical ops, Sales/Marketing).
- Maintain scientific expertise via self-study, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.
- Foster inclusion and belonging; support collaborative One J&J goals.
- Understand regulatory/healthcare compliance, business conduct/ethics, and Medical Affairs SOPs.
- Create performance/development plan with manager and complete leadership projects.
- Complete administrative requirements accurately and timely (e.g., expense reports).
Qualifications:
- Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.); post-graduate experience required for doctoral candidates; preference for therapeutic clinical experience.
- 2+ years relevant experience, including demonstrated success as an MSL.
- Ability to support territory with up to 70% travel.
- Must hold a valid US Driver’s License (preferred).
Preferred:
- Residency/fellowship; knowledge/experience in therapeutic area.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/CoPilot and remote technologies.
- Commitment to learning emerging technologies (e.g., AI).
- Related clinical, research, or pharma experience.
