Sr. Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) — Gastroenterology/Hepatology
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain long-term peer-to-peer scientific partnerships with KMEs and healthcare decision-makers in territory.
- Provide fair, evidence-based clinical presentations and lead deep-dive discussions on disease states and therapeutic pipelines.
- Represent the organization at major medical/scientific congresses; synthesize key breakthroughs.
- Capture and communicate “voice of the customer” insights on treatment patterns and unmet needs to inform Global Medical Strategy.
- Partner with Clinical Operations to support trial site selection and patient recruitment; liaison for Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs).
- Identify opportunities to generate Real-World Evidence (RWE).
- Serve as therapeutic area expert; deliver clinical briefings to Market Access and Commercial teams.
- Act as primary field-based medical strategic lead; translate global medical plans into localized tactics.
- Provide real-time competitive intelligence and medical insights to refine brand territory strategies.
- Deliver on-label educational/scientific/clinical information as appropriate.
- Execute pre-launch readiness plans (disease-state priming; address clinical knowledge gaps ~24 months prior to approval).
- Plan and manage territory engagement (analytics/CRM), deploy omnichannel engagement, and ensure compliance with PhRMA Code.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (PhD/PharmD/MD) highly preferred.
- 5+ years MSL experience preferred.
- Established relationships with Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology KMEs desired.
- Strong drug information communication and project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication; strong relationship-building and administrative management.
- Knowledge of FDA requirements related to MSLs.
- Self-starter; takes policies/procedures seriously; team-oriented.
- Must currently reside in assigned territory; valid driver’s license.
Compensation & Benefits (as stated): Base pay range $165K–$227K; eligible for annual bonus or sales incentive.
