Position Summary
- Board-certified Medical Oncology expert with deep experience in GI/GU malignancies; key strategic leader and scientific ambassador for Carisβ precision oncology platform.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as senior clinical/scientific voice for Caris in GI/GU oncology; represent company at national/international meetings, academic institutions, and major cancer centers.
- Deliver high-impact public/scientific presentations, translating genomic science into clinically relevant insights.
- Cultivate KOL and collaborator relationships, including POA member institutions.
- Partner with R&D, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Business Development, and Marketing for clinical accuracy and aligned messaging.
- Advise on clinical strategy and evidence generation (prospective trials, retrospective analyses, real-world data).
- Contribute thought leadership (advisory boards, symposia, webinars, publications, slide decks).
- Provide clinical mentorship to field medical personnel (e.g., Medical Science Liaisons).
- Support GI/GU education and CME initiatives.
- Bridge field insights to internal teams to inform innovation and R&D priorities.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO, board-certified in Medical Oncology (and/or Internal Medicine); significant GI/GU oncology experience.
- 3+ years recent clinical practice managing solid tumors with GI/GU expertise.
- Excellence in scientific communication, public speaking, and KOL engagement.
- Leadership translating clinical/molecular insights into actionable strategies.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence across domains.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and business internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced understanding of molecular profiling, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy in GI/GU oncology.
- 3+ years senior Medical Affairs/Medical Director (or equivalent) in biotech/diagnostics/pharma.
- Experience with multi-institutional scientific education/publications/clinical collaborations.
- Established relationships with academic GI/GU oncologists and societies (e.g., IASLC, ASCO, ESMO, AACR).
