Responsibilities:
- Serve as the leader of cross-functional Publications Team(s) for assigned assets, leading team meetings/discussions and driving execution of publication plans with input from global stakeholders.
- Lead tactical execution of publication plans (clinical manuscripts, abstracts, posters, oral presentations), meeting timelines and budgets.
- Review all publications in assigned therapeutic area to ensure quality and alignment with Scientific Communication Platforms and supporting communications.
- Partner with the Scientific Communications Director to transfer the scientific publications strategic plan and oversee pull-through to the publication plan and tactics.
- Partner with Publications Director to project and manage outsourcing budget and internal resource needs for assigned assets.
- Provide managerial oversight to internal/external medical writers to ensure high-quality, timely deliverables and adherence to Publication Policy and procedures.
- Direct external vendors to complete publication projects within timelines and ensure quality deliverables.
- Manage performance for direct reports: training/feedback, resolve personnel issues, and support talent retention.
- Address and resolve publications-related issues for therapeutic areas/assets and keep publication records and resourcing tools accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelorβs Degree required; PhD/PharmD/Masterβs preferred. CMPP/AMWA or similar certification/credential is a plus.
- 4β5 years medical/scientific publications (or related) experience required; pharmaceutical industry or medical communication agency experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Ability to understand and interpret medical data.
- Working knowledge of statistical concepts/techniques required; therapeutic area knowledge preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical/scientific publication structure/quality and publication regulations/best practices.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; effective presentations to senior audiences.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to lead productive teams.
- Microsoft Office and internet navigation proficiencies essential.
