Senior Therapy Access Manager (Field Reimbursement β US)
Responsibilities:
- Execute institutional and field therapy access strategy for assigned geography/portfolio.
- Identify and educate clinic/institution stakeholders on patient support services/Hub, distribution model, and payer requirements to gain product access.
- Partner with Sales Account Managers, Clinical Coordinators, and the Patient Support Services Hub to help HCPs navigate patient access needs; lead proactive touchpoints with internal partners.
- Serve as liaison between the Hub and HCP clinics to educate providers on patient support programs (e.g., coverage authorization guides, co-pay assistance programs, and other hub services).
- Provide live one-on-one education and answer coverage/authorization questions for HCPs and office staff.
- Champion compliance and ethical standards; mentor junior team members.
- Analyze payer trends and institutional feedback to inform strategic adjustments and escalation pathways.
- Educate HCPs/office staff/institutions on working with the Hub, payer issues, policies/guidelines, PA delays/denials, and appeal processes.
- Review escalated patient cases to address coverage barriers; monitor payer policies tailored to clinic needs.
- Travel ~25β60% (as needed) and represent the team at national meetings.
Experience & Education (Required):
- 7+ years in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry; 5+ years in access/reimbursement.
- Bachelorβs degree.
- Proven experience supporting HCPs/office staff to secure access/reimbursement with significant payer support.
- Experience with βbuy and billβ and Specialty Pharmacy pathways for specialty oral/injectable medications.
- Strong knowledge of payer environment (government/commercial payers, AOB/LOAs, accumulators/maximizers, manufacturer financial assistance).
- Ability to professionally interact with HCPs, office staff, and institutions.
- Strong communication skills and collaboration in a matrixed environment.
- Knowledge of compliance (HIPAA, OIG guidance, Advertising & Promotion requirements, Anti-Kickback Statute, and applicable policies).
- Strong planning/organization skills (MS Office).
- Rare Disease, Specialty, and Launch experience.
Preferred:
- Experience with Salesforce.com.
- Experience with REMS products.
- Experience with limited distribution products.
Minimum Skills/Ability:
- Strong analytical skills; strong organization/attention to detail.
- Ability to travel overnight; schedule/plan individual travel; ability to use own car.
- Technical healthcare knowledge (misc./billing codes, appeals process).
- Must be willing to travel 60%+; territory includes entire US and Puerto Rico.
- Bilingual highly desirable; nursing experience a plus.
