Position Overview
The Sr Manager, Regional Sales will lead a team of Diagnostic Hematology Specialists to exceed sales goals. Responsible for day-to-day management of the sales function, including deploying resources, allocating costs, directing sales activities, and developing and implementing area and territory sales plans. Select, hire, train, develop, and manage Diagnostic Hematology Specialists within a defined geographic region. Manage sales results, sales activities, and cross-functional initiatives; identify key issues and take action aligned to strategic objectives, resource constraints, and organizational values. Field-based role covering multiple states with frequent travel.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Evaluate, coach and lead performance of Diagnostic Hematology Specialists
- Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews
- Direct execution of sales strategies/tactics; implement sales and marketing plans
- Develop and execute area and territory sales plans aligned with national strategy
- Collaborate cross-functionally with KAM, NAM, MSL, and internal partners to maximize regional synergy
- Develop and maintain key customer relationships; create mutually beneficial business solutions to drive sales results
- Ensure compliance and training
- Provide coaching for future development
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements (Education/Experience/Other)
- A/B.S. + 12 years related experience (pharmaceutical/diagnostic/biotech/medical device sales), preferably Hematology/Oncology
- 2+ years sales management experience in Hematology/Oncology and/or diagnostics
- Cross-functional collaboration experience
- Excellent listening, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate technology application across research specialties
- Team-oriented; brings internal resources to meet customer needs
- Self-sufficient in fast-paced, changing environment
- Salesforce or similar CRM experience
Working Conditions
- Field-based; travel may exceed 60%
Compensation
- Salary range: $163,100 - $244,700
- Other possible elements: equity grant, incentive compensation, transportation reimbursement
