Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director, Operational Excellence (OpEx) Devens Biologics Operations, the OpEx Senior Manager will develop, implement, manage, and upskill employees using OpEx programs to support cost savings, increased process efficiency, and continuous improvement within Devens Biologics Operations. This is accomplished by promoting Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and Problem-Solving methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to OpEx programs in the Devens Biologics Operations Site to increase process efficiency, reduce operating costs, and improve cycle times.
- Improve ideation intake processes for cost savings opportunities (Value Capture), the Continuous Improvement Framework, and OpEx Road Map execution.
- Maintain a framework for functional/department leaders to identify, sponsor, and coach continuous improvement activities across the site.
- Strengthen OpEx capabilities via Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green/Black Belt Projects and Certifications Programs.
- Coordinate training and coaching forums for Project Management, Change Management, Agile/Scrum, and Problem-Solving methodologies.
- Embed OpEx foundational skills (e.g., 5S, Gemba Walks, Visual Management, Process Maps, Standard Work, Kaizen events, problem solving) by monitoring utilization.
- Perform structured assessments of Tier and Obeya meetings (physical and digital) to identify improvement opportunities aligned with site strategy.
- Collaborate with Devens Biologics PMO to manage the Continuous Improvement project portfolio with cost/benefit analysis.
- Collaborate with Devens Biologics Operations departments and Digital Plant (IT) to develop/enhance/deploy relevant KPIs/metrics.
- Participate in Kaizen events and other OpEx initiatives as needed.
- Communicate OpEx achievements/initiatives via forums (Community of Practice, poster sessions, Devens newsletter, leadership certification reviews, Town Halls, etc.).
- Provide tools and lean technique training as required.
- Stay current on OpEx best practices through networking within the site/campus, GPS Biologics Operating Unit, and Global GPS OpEx team.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial, chemical/biochemical engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent) highly desired.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification required.
- Agile/Scrum Master certifications strongly preferred.
- PMI PMP certification is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years GxP Biopharmaceutical experience with strong production/manufacturing operations experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP compliance and regulatory agency requirements/procedures.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, site engineering, MS&T, Digital Plant/IT, finance, PMO, Biologics Development).
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (SharePoint, Project, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Word, Publisher, Visio, PowerAutomate) and Minitab/JMP.
- Deep understanding of Six Sigma and Lean; ability to coach others on Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools (e.g., process mapping, visual management, 5S, Gemba).
