Role Summary
The Senior Manager, Finance – Inventory and Manufacturing Operations will be responsible for delivering performance-based analytics within the Technical Operations organization, overseeing cost accounting, inventory and manufacturing financial activities, and supporting forecasting, budgeting, and internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a financial analytical framework for the Technical Operations Organization in collaboration with FP&A and the Director of Inventory and Manufacturing.
- Supervise the costing group and oversee all financial aspects related to inventory and manufacturing for commercial and clinical programs.
- Manage financial accounting processes, policies, procedures, and internal controls; assist in forecasting and budgeting; manage related accounting and financial reporting.
- Lead monthly accounting close for inventory, manufacturing, and clinical trials, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Analyze and validate inventory transactions in Oracle; develop, implement, and maintain standard cost accounting processes, including cost studies and variance reporting.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure accurate monthly reports; maintain inventory cycle counting processes.
- Provide business analysis, forecasting, and budgeting with FP&A, recommending financial and operational improvements.
- Maintain and improve internal accounting controls related to inventory and manufacturing; work with Oracle ERP and Process Manufacturing module; lead system expansion efforts as needed.
- Prepare internal and external reporting, including SEC filings and assist in external audits; develop monthly inventory and flux reports to support decision making.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in accounting/finance or similar.
- Required: Seven to nine years of experience in manufacturing, inventory/finance roles with increasing responsibilities.
- Required: Strong working knowledge of Oracle OPM Financials module; solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost accounting; knowledge of U.S. GAAP as applied to manufacturing.
- Preferred: Knowledge of accounting statements and financial reporting in biotechnology/pharmaceuticals.
- Required: Excellent analytics and Excel-based modeling; strong organizational and project management skills; effective communication and interpersonal abilities; ability to manage and mentor staff.
- Required: Understanding of SOX controls and ongoing evaluation of controls.
