Role Summary
Senior Finance Manager, R&D Finance – Clinical Development, Immunology. Role focuses on financial planning and analysis for Immunology Development, providing decision support, and ensuring alignment with AbbVie FP&A requirements. Hybrid role based in Lake County, IL.
Responsibilities
- Be a trusted adviser for Immunology Development Teams
- Play an active role in R&D business partner meetings, providing decision support through data-driven analysis and influencing to drive desired outcomes and efficient use of budget funding
- Pro-actively collaborate with the R&D organization to deliver financial commitments and identify / deliver strategic and growth value drivers within Immunology portfolio
- Develop insights and recommend actions to manage deviations from plan and ensure coherent financial analysis and alignment across functions through opportunities to invest, reduce costs, and mitigate risks
- Oversee/manage all aspects of monthly, quarterly, Plan and LRP (Long Range Plan) and LBEs (Latest Business Estimate) as required
- Provide relevant variance analysis for each planning cycle and develop meaningful management reporting schedules ensuring accuracy and predictability of results and key metrics
- Lead financial discussions with R&D Therapeutic and Finance leadership providing insights for components of Clinical spend and implications of changes to enable informed decision-making
- Develop strong relationships with other key members of R&D and Global Finance organizations
- Manage 1 direct report
Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive and/or related experience
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor and develop strategic insights to drive decisions
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to scale and tailor information / communication styles based on customer needs / style
- Demonstrated ability to influence both up and down an organization
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and constructively challenge the status quo
- Self-starter with ability to operate independently, drive processes, identify and implement process improvements, establish and adjust priorities to achieve objectives and operate with speed and agility
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and aptitude for continuous improvement and change
- Strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills
- Preferred, SAP & BPC experience
