The Senior Director, US Sales Manager Team -West serves as a regional team leader in the West and is responsible for achieving regional and national sales goals by leading a team of Neuromuscular Clinical Sales Specialists (NCSS), developing strategic regional business plans, communicating disease state overview and safe and effective use of the product portfolio to healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, develop, and lead a team of Neuromuscular Clinical Sales Specialists in assigned region.
- Recruit, hire, train, coach and motivate sales team; foster a positive culture and ensure continuous performance improvement.
- Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, initiative, and engagement by communicating core values, business objectives, desired outcomes, and future actions.
- Promote safe and effective use of FDA-approved products per label, training, and company policies.
- Analyze complex business issues and develop customized, high value-added solutions.
- Develop and execute strategic/tactical business plans for the region to generate new revenue and build rapport with key DMD stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key DMD stakeholders in the West Region.
- Develop deep understanding of the DMD environment (disease, local drivers, treatment/referral patterns, key accounts, influence patterns, barriers to care).
- Collaborate across functions to achieve goals; coordinate internal/external resources to enhance patient care.
- Attend and lead meetings; flex to take on projects/other duties as requested.
- Exercise sound judgment aligned with regulatory/compliance guidelines and company policies.
- Anticipate trends impacting promotional strategies; develop action plans for risks/opportunities.
- Analyze regional sales performance, individual metrics, and CRM input; identify trends/opportunities/gaps.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching/support toward individual and regional goals.
- Establish and maintain effective regional and cross-regional communications.
- Participate in development and implementation of sales strategy and tactics; partner with Marketing Lead(s) to execute key initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; MBA preferred.
- 12+ years of rare disease/biotechnology sales experience required.
- 5+ years leadership experience preferred, including at least 1 pharmaceutical/biotech launch and proven rare disease track record; internal candidates in leadership training programs/courses considered.
- Previous Neuromuscular, Pediatric Neurology, or other Genetic specialty experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environments.
- Excellent leadership/coaching skills; proven record of performance; ability to influence and motivate (top 10% of sales force).
- Proficient with CRM platforms (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce).
- Passion for improving DMD patient care; strong customer orientation.
- Ability to work cross-functionally; adopt innovative technologies/techniques.
- Product launch experience in rare disease and subcutaneous/infusion space highly desired.
- Strong communication skills.
- Embraces continuous learning.
- Valid driver’s license (in good standing).
Required/Other:
- Travel up to 75% (including overnight).
- On-site work at a Sarepta facility in the United States.
