Position Overview
The Senior Director of Technical Services/Manufacturing Science (TS/MS) oversees the siteβs TS/MS function, ensuring capacity, capabilities, and leadership needed to support the manufacturing plan across small molecule, oligonucleotide manufacturing, and TS/MS lab areas.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical agenda for a new Lilly site, including small molecule, oligonucleotide manufacturing, and TS/MS lab operations.
- Shape medium- and long-term site strategy as part of the Site Lead Team.
- Oversee TS/MS activities, including new product introduction, process development, and optimization.
- Ensure validated processes and compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and ensure timely completion of reports.
- Collaborate with Development teams to assess new product opportunities.
- Govern technical aspects of CMOs; build relationships with Synthetic Molecule Design and Development.
- Contribute to strategic decisions for small molecule and oligonucleotide business planning and execution.
- Ensure TS/MS has necessary resources and facilities to operate effectively.
- Mentor and coach team members; support performance management, training, and career development.
Qualifications
- PhD in an applicable science or engineering discipline (Chemistry/Biochemistry preferred).
- 10+ years of experience leading operations in the pharmaceutical industry.
Preferences
- Deep knowledge of cGMPs and their application to manufacturing operations.
- Strong relationship-building and communication across all levels; collaborate with Site Leadership Team.
- Experience leading high-performing teams and fostering a safe, successful culture.
Benefits
- Anticipated base wage: $163,500 - $239,800.
