Senior Director of Portfolio Management

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of portfolio prioritization frameworks balancing scientific innovation, commercial potential, and financial impact.
- Partner with Finance to assess investment scenarios, optimize resource allocation, and ensure financially rigorous portfolio decisions.
- Collaborate with R&D leadership to align pipeline strategy with portfolio goals, ensuring scientific feasibility and milestone-driven execution.
- Incorporate market insights, competitive intelligence, and launch readiness into portfolio planning with Commercial teams.
- Facilitate governance processes promoting transparency, agility, and accountability across the portfolio lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement in portfolio operations using data and analytics to improve strategic decisions and execution efficiency.
- Lead initiatives supporting continuous improvement of Portfolio Governance and Operating Model.
- Advise Portfolio Governance (PG) on portfolio performance, trade-offs, and strategic risks.
- Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Targeting 12 years progressively responsible relevant experience in program management, including 8 years in a leadership role managing cross-functional project teams.
- Strong understanding of the drug development process from preclinical pharmacology through regulatory approval and pharmaceutical program management standards.
- Equivalent education/experience combination may be considered.

Key Skills (Preferred/Required)
- Significant experience in portfolio management, strategic planning, or program leadership in biotech/life sciences.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Strong knowledge of drug development, commercialization strategies, and financial modeling.
- Executive presence; exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with governance frameworks and enterprise operating models (highly desirable).
- Advanced meeting facilitation; lead senior/executive-level cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Ability to elicit cooperation and be persuasive.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Project, Word, Excel.
- Ability/willingness to travel occasionally.

- Discretionary bonus and equity awards.
- Salary range: $238,000β€”$297,800 USD.
