Position Summary
- The Senior Director of Portfolio Management will shape and execute the strategic direction of the company’s development and commercialization portfolio in a matrixed environment, driving enterprise-wide portfolio prioritization, cross-functional alignment, and efficient decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement portfolio prioritization frameworks balancing scientific innovation, commercial potential, and financial impact.
- Partner with Finance on investment scenarios, resource allocation, and financially rigorous portfolio decisions.
- Collaborate with R&D leadership to align pipeline strategy with portfolio goals and milestone-driven execution.
- Work with Commercial teams to incorporate market insights, competitive intelligence, and launch readiness into portfolio planning.
- Facilitate governance processes across the portfolio lifecycle to ensure transparency, agility, and accountability.
- Improve portfolio operations using data and analytics to enhance strategic decision-making and execution efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to improve portfolio governance and operating model.
- Advise Portfolio Governance (PG) on portfolio performance, trade-offs, and strategic risks.
- Champion accountability, collaboration, and innovation across teams.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in life science (advanced degree preferred); 12+ years progressively responsible experience in program management, including 8 years in leadership managing cross-functional project teams.
- Strong knowledge of drug development (preclinical pharmacology through regulatory approval) and pharmaceutical program management principles/standards.

Key Skills (Required/Preferred)
- Significant experience in portfolio management, strategic planning, or program leadership in biotech/life sciences.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Strong understanding of drug development, commercialization strategies, and financial modeling.
- Executive presence; exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with governance frameworks and enterprise operating models (highly desirable).
- Advanced meeting facilitation; lead executive/senior teams without direct authority.
- Persuasion and ability to elicit cooperation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Project (PowerPoint, Project, Word, Excel).
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.
