Senior Director, Medical Affairs Technology Lead - Content Strategy

What Youโll Do
- Build and Lead a New Technology Team: Establish the Content Strategy Technology team; recruit and onboard Technology Product Leads; develop/mentor the team with clear expectations, accountability, and career pathways; foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the Content Strategy Technology Strategy: Define and maintain a multi-year roadmap across content management, evidence generation, publications, and medical information platforms; integrate platforms/workflows into a unified capability; translate Medical Affairs priorities into build/buy/partner/retire investment decisions; assess emerging technologies (incl. AI-enabled content creation, automated review workflows) and recommend adoption.
- Partner with Medical Affairs Stakeholders: Advise Scientific Communications, Medical Information, Publications, Medical Affairs Research, and Medical Content Strategy; represent the domain to leadership and cross-functional partners (IT, Legal, Medical Governance, Compliance); translate requirements into scalable, compliant solutions; lead adoption, training, and global change management.
- Lead Vendor Strategy and Partnership Management: Lead vendor relationships; hold vendors accountable for service levels, timelines, and quality; evaluate new partnerships; establish selection/evaluation frameworks.
What You Bring
Basic Qualifications
- Masterโs + 12 years OR Bachelorโs + 14 years in pharmaceutical/life sciences technology, product management, or related fields.
- 5+ years people management experience leading technology/platform/product teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA/advanced degree; deep Medical Affairs knowledge (ISR, publications, medical information, scientific communications).
- Enterprise content management platform experience; track record building teams from scratch in matrixed global organizations.
- Executive presence; strategic, action-oriented, measurable outcomes mindset; operational rigor.
- Empathy/team care; strong change management; multi-vendor portfolio management; ability to evaluate/integrate emerging AI in regulated pharma.
Location
- Onsite in Foster City, CA or Parsippany, NJ; in office at least 3 days/week.

Salary Range
- Bay Area: $261,375โ$338,250. Other US Locations: $237,575โ$307,450. May include discretionary bonus, long-term incentives, PTO, and benefits.
