Job Description
Sr. Director of Community Marketing leads Gilead’s integrated community (AHCP) and Community Liaison (CL) marketing strategies to strengthen the HIV Business Unit’s impact across key customer segments and national community touchpoints. Leads strategic planning, campaign execution, customer insight generation, and alignment across Treatment, PrEP, and Franchise priorities, ensuring meaningful community presence and measurable, data-driven impact across the HIV ecosystem.
Essential Duties & Job Functions
Community Marketing Strategy, Planning & Execution
- Set Community Marketing strategy; lead annual plans, campaigns, and budget stewardship.
- Oversee community conferences and key national presence (Prides, NHTD, MSA-focused initiatives).
- Align with cross-functional partners (HIV Treatment & PrEP Marketing and PA) and lead sponsorship governance.
- Build community relationships via field rides, events, conferences, and virtual engagement.
- Lead/support CL Marketing team on POA development and alignment with national brand objectives.
- Foster HIV leadership narrative and amplify community partnership activities.
- Partner with Public Affairs to align community strategy and execution.
- Establish KPIs for AHCP & Community Marketing.
- Build and maintain relationships with Community & Advocacy OLs.
Leadership, Operations & Budget Management
- Lead and develop high-performing teams across Community Marketing, AHCP Strategy, and CL Marketing.
- Drive operational excellence, cross-functional alignment, and consistent execution.
- Manage AHCP and CL marketing budgets with fiscal discipline and investment prioritization.
Key Competencies
- Customer & Market Insight (qual/quant research, advisory boards, analytics-driven decisions)
- Integrated Campaign & Ecosystem Leadership (brand/unbranded, media mix, content orchestration)
- Community & Stakeholder Engagement (advocacy partnerships, conferences, field relationships)
- Omni Channel Marketing & Field Pull-Through (CL POA, tools, incentives)
- Performance Measurement & Optimization (KPIs, dashboards, test-and-learn, budget ROI)
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA in marketing or related fields (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields (required)
- 10+ years of experience
- Prior people management experience (required)
- Advanced product lifecycle management experience (desirable)
- Advanced science degree (MD/PharmD/PhD) or MBA (desirable)
- Pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience (preferred)
