Position Summary:
The Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence generates timely, objective, actionable competitive intelligence to support informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor external landscape (scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial, financial, partnerships, competitive) for relevant developments.
- Build/maintain competitive landscape assessments, competitor/asset profiles, trial trackers, timelines, and intelligence resources.
- Identify and communicate significant competitive developments, trends, and industry changes.
- Collect, evaluate, and synthesize information from literature, trial databases, regulatory agencies, congress materials, disclosures, and investor communications.
- Produce reports, presentations, executive summaries, trackers, and recurring updates for internal audiences.
- Plan and execute congress intelligence activities (pre-/during-/post-congress).
- Maintain intelligence repositories/knowledge management; partner with cross-functional teams to meet intelligence needs.
- Support ad hoc requests and cross-functional planning with evidence-based insights.
- Improve CI processes and incorporate emerging tech (incl. AI) where appropriate.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- BS in Life Sciences (advanced degree preferred); equivalent education/experience considered.
- 8+ years relevant experience in biotech/pharma/consulting/competitive or scientific/medical/commercial strategy.
Additional Skills/Experience Requirements (Required):
- Strong drug development/clinical/regulatory/commercial industry knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize diverse inputs into clear insights; lead projects/workstreams; excellent communication and organization.
- Travel up to 10%; role is not 100% remote.
Preferred:
- Experience in rare disease/nephrology/rare metabolic/specialty pharma.
- Congress CI experience; cross-lifecycle support; CI tooling (landscapes/trackers) and AI-enabled tech.
Benefits/Compensation:
- Premium health/well-being, life insurance, disability, retirement match, and generous paid time off; target base pay range $150,000β$195,000.
