Position Summary
Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence. Generate timely, objective, actionable competitive intelligence to support informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Monitor external scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial, financial, partnership, and competitive developments.
- Build/maintain competitive landscape assessments, competitor profiles, asset summaries, and clinical trial trackers.
- Identify and communicate significant competitive developments and emerging trends to stakeholders.
- Gather, evaluate, and synthesize information from public sources (literature, trial databases, regulators, congresses, disclosures, investor communications).
- Produce competitive intelligence reports, presentations, executive summaries, and recurring updates.
- Lead congress competitive intelligence planning, collection, and post-congress analysis.
- Maintain intelligence repositories and knowledge management resources.
- Partner with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development, Research, and others.
- Support ad hoc requests and cross-functional planning with evidence-based competitor/landscape insights.
- Improve CI processes and evaluate/implement AI-enabled tools; manage external intelligence vendors.
Education/Experience (Required)
- BS in Life Sciences or related; advanced degree (PhD/PharmD/MD/MS/MBA) preferred.
- 8+ years relevant experience in biotech/pharma/life sciences consulting/competitive or scientific/medical/commercial strategy.
Skills/Experience (Additional)
- Strong drug development/clinical research/regulatory/commercial understanding.
- Proven ability to gather/synthesize diverse sources; independently lead projects; excellent communication and organization.
- Travel up to 10%; not expected to be 100% remote.
Preferred
- Rare disease, nephrology, rare metabolic diseases, or specialty pharma experience.
- Congress CI planning/execution; cross-stage drug development support; building landscapes/trackers; leveraging AI/emerging tech.
