Purpose
The Senior Director, APEX Neuroscience Lead drives strategic direction and execution for APEX Neuroscience Business Unit teams, ensuring delivery of insights, analytics, and field functions. Optimizes APEX performance through analytics prioritization, cross-functional coordination, and disciplined resource allocation to support strategic questions from global pipeline and U.S. brand and sales teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to Commercial executives and BU Leads; own work product approach, quality, and timeliness.
- Lead and prioritize BU analytical initiatives; drive operational excellence across global pipeline and on-market U.S. Brand/Franchise/Sales teams.
- Translate brand business problems into analytical paths; synthesize insights into an integrated 1APEX/1AbbVie perspective.
- Lead cross-functional partnerships (APEX, TA&O, BTS, Finance, and broader commercial stakeholders) to prioritize highest-value projects and protect strategic thinking time.
- Lead APEX strategic transformation: best practices, continuous improvement, adoption of emerging techniques.
- Oversee field planning, tools, and incentive compensation capabilities; support field effectiveness resources and integration across centers of excellence.
- Build expertise in global healthcare business environment (governments, payors, distribution, pricing) to inform brand and analytics strategies.
- Apply market research design and analytical approaches to support brand marketing decision-making.
- Embody strong decision-making practices; clarify priorities and right-size analytical work to business decisions.
- Lead, coach, and develop an inclusive, high-performing team.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs in Business/Market Research/related required; Masterโs in Business or Analytics preferred.
- 10+ years Marketing Analytics or Market Research.
- 5+ years leading an analytical function; commercial analytics experience required.
- Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking; track record advising senior Commercial leadership.
- Fluency in BU/franchises and field planning; ability to translate complex issues into analytical questions and recommendations.
- Experience leading teams through change; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
