Senior Director, Global Medical Capability Excellence Lead

As we elevate medical affairs, the Global Capability Excellence Lead will work with GMAO (Global Medical Affairs Organization) capability leaders to ensure medical capabilities are effectively introduced, embedded, and monitored across IBU hubs/affiliates, US and BUs, with clear governance, consistent ways of working, performance tracking, and issue resolution.

Key Objectives / Deliverables
- Define and evolve GMAO capability strategy and multi-year roadmap
- Establish progress/impact framework for capability implementation
- Align priorities across BUs, IBU, and GMAO stakeholders
- Lead governance forums for decision-making, prioritization, and performance tracking
- Prioritize improvement areas from internal stakeholder insight and develop action plans
- Serve as point of contact across GMAO capabilities for hubs/affiliates and global teams
- Coordinate global roll-out of medical capabilities via governance forums and Hub Capability Lead community of practice
- Ensure capability deep-dives, self-assessments, and follow-up actions
- Lead initiatives for capability deployment and advancement (impact/feasibility/strategic relevance)
- Enable BU/US/IBU teams to establish and optimize end-to-end processes; identify cross-team gaps and opportunities; design initiatives to optimize operating models and core processes
- Communicate progress/insights to senior stakeholders
- New venture integration: identify and plan medical tasks for newly acquired ventures, including GMAO capacity assessment
- Organization change management: partner to assess impact; develop and execute stakeholder engagement/communication plan

- Ensure adoption and measurable impact; maintain visibility vs. roadmap
- Clear next steps for new venture medical tasks
- Communicate capability/process changes to senior stakeholders

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time (Lilly will not sponsor visas)

- MBA; strategic thinking; manage complex/ambiguous work
- Influence cross-functionally; lead without being the SME
- Concise communication with senior stakeholders; drive strategy to execution
- Capability development, impact measurement, and process optimization experience
