Senior Director, Global Data Storytelling Communications
Key Objectives / Deliverables
- Own Lillyβs enterprise data narrative for the R&D pipeline across therapeutic areas; establish and maintain a consistent data release playbook.
- Serve as a strategic partner to LRL and TA teams; provide communications counsel to investors, media, policymakers, and the scientific community; prepare senior leaders for major data landmarks, congresses, and media interactions.
- Build/drive enterprise congress strategy; support TA publications strategy with medical affairs and TA leads.
- Lead and develop a data communications team; set operating standards and recruit/retain talent combining scientific and communications expertise.
- Coordinate with other scientific communications pillars and align messaging with Issues Management, Investor Relations, Business Development Communications, and Public Affairs.
- Develop proactive media strategy; build relationships with science/health journalists and drive positive-to-neutral sentiment.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in communications, science, public relations, or related field.
- 12+ years communications experience with depth in pharma/biotech/healthcare.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly does not sponsor work authorization/visas.
Additional Skills / Preferences
- Leadership of large matrixed comms teams across multiple therapeutic areas; C-suite advisory experience.
- Clinical data/regulatory landmark/congress communications strategy experience; deep drug development lifecycle understanding.
- Strong media relations; proven team building; judgment under ambiguity.
Location/Travel
- Indianapolis, IN (hybrid); travel 20β30%.
Compensation/Benefits (if applicable)
- Anticipated base: $154,500β$226,600; bonus eligible; comprehensive benefits (401(k), medical/dental/vision, life, time off, well-being).
