The Opportunity
In this role, you will lead the Medical Affairs function, guiding Medical Science Liaisons and broader teams while fostering trusted scientific relationships with KOLs, healthcare practitioners, medical societies, and other stakeholders. You will oversee medical information, medical education (including HEOR), publication planning, lifecycle management, launch strategy, and the development and approval of promotional and non-promotional medical materials. Work cross-functionally and serve on the Promotional Review Committee to ensure Medical Affairs activities are conducted with scientific rigor, operational excellence, and compliance.

Essential Job Duties
- Medical Affairs Strategy & Operations: Build integrated, compliant Medical Affairs systems and processes across investigational and marketed products; ensure compliance with corporate policies and healthcare laws/regulations.
- Medical Education & Information: Build and execute medical education and information strategy, including HEOR models.
- Team Leadership: Hire, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Medical Affairs team.
- External Scientific Engagement: Develop trusted partnerships with KOLs, medical societies, and stakeholders.
- Evidence Generation & Publications: Support studies; manage medical education agency; coordinate publication strategy; review manuscripts/abstracts.
- Educational Materials & Stakeholder Collaboration: Develop and approve medically accurate educational materials for providers and patients.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage the Medical Affairs budget and allocate resources.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strategic leadership in Medical Affairs, including launches and lifecycle management.
- Strong scientific/therapeutic knowledge; Type 1 severe allergic reactions/anaphylaxis is a plus.
- Excellent strategic execution and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Relationship building with medical experts and decision makers; partner with Legal/Compliance.
- Strong communication, scientific presentation, and medical writing/biostatistics experience.
- Self-directed, hands-on, independent work in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience
- MD/PhD/PharmD or relevant advanced life sciences/medicine degree required (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years medical affairs or clinical research.
- 8+ years leading Medical Affairs in biotech/pharma; 6+ years directly managing teams.
- U.S. healthcare marketplace experience required.
- Available outside normal hours and up to 50% field engagement (travel/virtual).

Benefits/Compensation
- Salary range: $300,000–$360,000; may include discretionary annual performance bonus. Also eligible for equity, 401(k) matching, and 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental & Vision.
